Also, Laura coins a sexy new catchphrase for the pod. \u00a0\u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>This episode has an enhanced video version! Watch here:<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHer transformations can reflect the context of abuse she finds herself in with Brian. She becomes what she needs to be in every situation because she\u2019s always wanting to get on her toxic partner\u2019s good side.\u201d-Laura<\/p>\n<p>Anna: &#8220;Given that Meggan has expressed doubt about her ability to control her powers\u2014maybe, this once, she did need Kurt to save her. Maybe he was being a good friend, instead of a prospective lover.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Mav: \u201cBut he doesn\u2019t become upset when she turns into a blue elvin woman.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>Anna: \u201cFair.\u201d \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Both the wall and the bridal imagery speak to Rachel\u2019s subconscious desire for community, and to be \u2018normal\u2019 in a way she so clearly isn\u2019t, both because she\u2019s a mutant, and because of the queer subtext we\u2019ve seen before.\u201d-Laura<\/p>\n<p>\u201cRachel is a refugee from a future that can never come to pass. So when you see this wall, that\u2019s enveloping her, made of people who\u00a0<strong>want\u00a0<\/strong>her there\u2014it\u2019s horrifying for us, but appealing for her. It\u2019s asking her to be part of something, both emotionally and physically.\u201d-Mav \u00a0\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cKurt chooses to put his physical health at risk instead of putting his mental wellbeing at risk. It speaks to his status as a leader on the team that he sacrifices himself and resists the pull of the Inferno.\u201d-Laura<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI like that incorruptability as a feature of Kurt. There\u2019s been other times when demons have tried to seduce him, and he\u2019s just been like, \u2018nah, I\u2019m good.\u2019\u201d-Anna \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Kurt is able to resist the Inferno because he\u2019s constantly dealing with his demons. That\u2019s part of his character. He\u2019s always trying to be more human.&#8221;-Mav \u00a0<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is a very famous kink, with deep roots in comics. William Moulton Marston, the creator of Wonder Woman, wrote a thesis on sorority baby parties, which have lots of queer subtext.\u201d -Andrew<\/p>\n<p>&#8220;Kurt could be projecting his idea of Meggan onto her. But it also reflects his emotional intelligence. He\u2019s seeing the emotional subtext the other members of the team don\u2019t.&#8221;-Anna<\/p>\n<p>On Kurt Wagner, sexy pajamas wearer:<\/p>\n<p>Laura: \u201cThe way Nightcrawler is rendered is&#8230; impressive. You talk about having a crush on him \u00a0and in this issue I get why.
