We’re a pop culture analysis podcast. As such you’d think we’d analyze a lot more movies than we do. Maybe we should do more. That’s a question for another day. But every once in a while we realize that one of the hosts of the show absolutely adores a move that maybe isn’t as beloved by the rest of the world as they think. This time it’s Hannah’s turn. So on this episode Hannah and her partner Josh explain to us why they love the 1999 version of the Mummy so much while Mav and Monica force them to confront the possibility “is this a bad movie?”
If you’ve not seen the film we’re actually extremely light on spoilers. Nonetheless we deconstruct the film in terms of gender dynamics as well as question its nostalgia and its place as a bisexual touchstone at least for Generation Z. Do you love the movie? Do you hate it? Do you agree or disagree with us? Listen and then let us know your thoughts in the comments.
