How often do you go to the movie? Not just watch a movie on TV or a computer. How often do you actually go out to the cinema to see a film? Ok, now when you go, do you usually go to the latest blockbuster or do you go to indie films? Does it still make sense to see indie films in the theater? Is it even possible where you live? On this week’s episode, Mav and Monica welcome returning guest Blake Collins to talk about the evolution of indie film and its relationship to the evolving arthouse theater and cineplex landscape. Does it still make sense to see these films or is it time to just accept that the destination for indie cinema is streaming and adapt with the times. And if so, does this change when we’re talking about big market blockbusters? Listen to our thoughts and then let us know yours in the comments below.
