e222. So, The World’s On Fire… Everything is Fine…

Episode artwork for "Everything is Fine" featuring news stories discussed on the episode and a dumpster fire.

It’s been a while since we spent the show just talking about the state of the world. Mostly because… well, the state of the world kinda sucks right now… and we sort of didn’t want to deal with it. But this is a show about culture and the culture in the world right now, particularly in the United States where our show is based… kinda sucks! It’s a total dumpster fire… but everything is fine…no it’s not! And other parts of the world aren’t great either. So on this week’s show Mav and Katya are joined by returning guests Kingdom James and Stephanie Siler to talk about… the world around us. We tackled the obvious (the recent SCOTUS reversal of Roe v. Wade) as well as some other issues like climate change, the Elon Musk takeover (maybe) of Twitter, the continuing fallout of the January 6th, 2021 insurrection, the state of American two-party politics, upcoming elections, unions, strikes, Wimbledon, and Creepy VR robots… and also, why it probably isn’t a great idea to just be counting on running away and escaping to Canada. The world is on fire… but everything is fine… or at least we’re going to try. Join us as we talk about the current state of American (and Canadian) politics and the cultural fallout of the last couple months, then tell us what you think in the comments below.
