Happy Halloween!!! Or I guess, happy a couple days after Halloween. Whatever, as far as we’re concerned we’re still squarely in the domain of “spooky season” and one of the spookiest things we could think to talk about was Stephen King. Actually, we’ve done this once before. Way back on show #81, we talked about King as an author and what makes his books so engaging as a horror fan. But as always with pop culture, there’s always so much more to say— especially when one of the gimmicks of your show is that you explicitly never resolved anything. So on this week’s episode Mav, Wayne, and Hannah welcome retuning guest Nicole Freim and new guest Jim Roberts to talk all about King’s influence on greater culture from other authors to film and television and how he has not only shaped horror but perhaps evolved beyond it.
