Okay, campers, rise and shine, and don’t forget your booties ’cause it’s cooooold out there today! It’s Groundhog Day, and you know what that means! It’s the return of your favorite annual podcast, GroundPod Day! Just like every year, Joe, Andrew, Nicole and Mav return to do a deep dive analysis of a fan favorite film… so long as that film is the 1993 movie Groundhog Day.
On this year’s episode, we ponder existential questions about Phil Connors’ morality. Is he really becoming a better person? Is just being a hero or is he trying to play god? Is he just bored? We compare Groundhog Day to other media properties that do groundhog days. And we also talk about the idea of escaping time loops and the metaphysical ramifications of rebooting the world every day. How would you address things if you hit your own personal groundhog day? And as always, we talk trivia and answer listener mail. That, and whatever else happens to come to mind in the process of talking about it. You’ve heard the show before. You know how we do it! Same thing every year, right? Well, maybe not. What have we been up to since last year’s show? What do we have to say this year? Listen and find out and then let us know your thoughts in the comments! See you next year! And every year after that. Same Groundhog Time! Same GroundHog Podcast!

This is the same upload from Groundpod day 24…or did I miss something?
Hi Tammy,
I honestly don’t know what’s going on here! You’re right, In an oddly Groundhog day moment, the old episode is playing on the website feed. I don’t really know why, because the correct episode IS loading in my Apple Podcasts program and on Spotify! The website seems trapped in a time loop. Which would be funny if that were a bit… but it’s not!
For a moment I was afraid I was in a time loop😉 and then I thought it was a bit ..but then it kept going!! 😆 I’m going to try your suggestion (below). In the meantime BIG THANKS for the reply and love the podcast.
I had no idea the Groundhog Day hole was so deep! I found you through Christopher Bingham’s YouTube video. I have watched Groundhog Day every year (usually closer to the day, but a family emergency threw me off schedule this year) every year for at least 15 years….maybe more…probably more….I can almost quote the entire movie!
Thanks again!
Tammy Gant
Glad to have you aboard!
It also seems to play correctly if you click the Play in New Window link… it’s only the embedded player. Clearly it’s cursed and hasn’t discovered true love to get out of the loop.
Sorry about that!
Huzzah!!!!!! It worked👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿👏🏿
