A global pandemic, rampant racism, social unrest, the fall of American democracy, the deaths of celebrity and political icons, feral hogs and murder hornets, and an asteroid is hurtling towards the earth. All of this and it’s only October. 2020 has been a hell of a year. So much so that some have speculated that we have fallen into a parallel world and this is in fact the Darkest Timeline. But is that true? On this week’s episode, Mav, Hannah, Katya and Wayne discuss the year so far and compare it to some of the darkest works of fiction. How bad is this year really anyway, and how can the literature we read and movies we watch help us through it? Join us as we take an intellectual journey that starts with time travel and works it’s way through Marxism… and hopefully all makes sense in the end. Then let us know what you think in the comments.
