Everyone is always complaining that no one makes any new movies anymore. Pop culture is seemingly just a continuous rehash of stuff that we used to have decades ago. Except there has to be a reason for that. Hollywood is capitalistic; they make things because they know they can make money with them. And even though we may complain, the simple truth is, often a major IP “bomb” makes more money than a smaller new property. So on this episode, Mav, Maybe, Hannah and Wayne get together to talk about the appeal of nostalgia in our current world of pop culture. From He-man to Toy Story to the Muppets, to Barbie and many places in between, join us as we walk through the modern world of nostalgia in pop culture and let us know if you agree or disagree in the comments.
