Space is a very popular concept in pop culture media. From sci-fi novels to epic star-faring film franchises, there’s no shortage of space stories. But space is becoming even more popular than ever in real life as well. In fact, there are several commercial companies that are all-too-happy to toss a regular average Joe into a rocket, count and and shoot that person past the stratosphere. But why? The space race began decades ago, but in some ways, it now seems hotter than ever. On this week’s episode, Mav and Monica welcome Kathy Newman, James Wynn, and Felipe Cerverathree academics who are study the concept of space and how it affects (and is affected by) the world we live in. Listen and let us know your thoughts in the comments.
